You are not imagining it — your body has changed. Here is what actually helps.

Six things women ask us for every week — and why this private studio in Kempton Park delivers all of them in 30 minutes.

By Althea Smit — Founder, The Body Reset Space, Glen Marais

There is a particular kind of exhaustion that comes not from doing too little — but from doing everything and still feeling like your body is not cooperating.

You have not let yourself go. You have not stopped caring. You are just busy, human, and tired of being told to try harder when you are already trying your hardest.

The women who walk through my door are not looking for a miracle. They are looking for something that actually works — something that fits into a real life, produces visible results, and does not require another hour they do not have.

What follows are the six things they ask me about most. I want to answer each one honestly — because you deserve real information, not a sales pitch.

"I just want my skin to feel firm again"

You are not being vain. Skin that has lost its firmness — whether from pregnancy, weight changes, or simply the passage of time — affects how you feel in your body every single day. It affects what you wear, how you carry yourself, and that quiet moment in the mirror that nobody else sees.

The infrared component of our VacuTherm session works at a depth that surface creams and lotions cannot reach. Philips medical-grade infrared emitters — the same technology used in clinical photobiomodulation — stimulate collagen and elastin production in the deeper layers of the skin. Improved circulation delivers more oxygen and nutrients to skin cells. Over consistent sessions, most clients notice a visible improvement in skin texture, tone, and firmness — particularly in the areas that bother them most.

This is not a cosmetic claim. It is a documented physiological response to infrared at the correct wavelength and intensity. A 2020 study published in Frontiers in Physiology by researchers at the German Aerospace Center confirmed improved blood supply and tissue remodelling under the exact mechanism our machine uses.

What most clients tell me is that they notice it first in how their skin feels — firmer, less loose, more alive — before they even notice the centimetre changes. The skin responds quickly when the circulation is right.

"I have tried everything for this cellulite"

Cellulite is not a fat problem. It is a circulation and connective tissue problem — which is why diet and cardio, no matter how disciplined, rarely make a visible dent in it.

Cellulite forms when fat cells push through weakened connective tissue fibres, creating the dimpled appearance most women know well. The two things that improve this structurally are improved lymphatic drainage — which reduces the fluid congestion that makes it more visible — and mechanical stimulation of the connective tissue itself.

The Body Roller addresses both simultaneously. Its cylindrical mechanical rollers work along the full length of the body, breaking down congested fascia, stimulating lymphatic flow, and improving localised circulation. The infrared heat penetrates the tissue simultaneously, softening the connective tissue and facilitating the drainage that the mechanical action initiates.

Most clients notice a visible softening of the affected areas within the first four to six weeks of consistent sessions. The areas most commonly mentioned are the thighs, the backs of the legs, and the abdomen.

I will not promise that it disappears overnight. But I will tell you that the mechanism is sound, the research supports it, and the clients who come consistently see real changes in areas that nothing else has touched.

"My legs are so heavy and swollen by the end of the day"

If your legs feel heavy, puffy, or swollen — particularly by the afternoon or evening — your lymphatic system is almost certainly involved. This is one of the most common things women tell me, and one of the most satisfying to address because the results are often visible within sessions.

The lymphatic system drains excess fluid from the tissues. When it slows down — from sitting, stress, hormonal shifts, or simply not moving enough — fluid accumulates in the lower legs, ankles, and feet. The result is that heavy, congested feeling that makes you want to put your feet up the moment you get home.

The Body Roller has a dedicated LymphDrainage programme built into its operating system — a specific vacuum modulation mode designed precisely for this. It mechanically stimulates the lymph vessels along the full length of the leg, encouraging the body to reabsorb the accumulated fluid and process it through the kidneys.

Many clients notice increased urination in the 12 to 24 hours after a session. This is a positive sign — the kidneys are processing the mobilised fluid. Within the first few sessions, most women with this complaint notice their legs feeling noticeably lighter.

The before and after ankle photo below is from a real client — 19 days of consistent sessions. No diet change. No medication. Just the sessions and adequate water.

"I need to lose centimetres — not just weight"

The scale is one of the least useful measures of body change. Centimetres — how your clothes fit, how your waist measures, how your body is shaped — are what most women actually care about. And centimetres can change significantly even when the scale barely moves.

A 12-week peer-reviewed clinical study conducted on 30 women aged 25 to 50 — all following the same diet — found that the group using a vacuum treadmill showed a statistically significant reduction in abdominal skinfold measurement compared to the group not using it. Same food. Different machine. Different result.

The reason is specific to how the vacuum treadmill works. The sealed capsule draws intensified blood flow and lymphatic activity to the lower body — the abdomen, hips, thighs, and buttocks. This is where most women carry their most stubborn centimetres, and it is precisely where the vacuum creates its most concentrated effect.

Combined with the Body Roller's lymphatic drainage — which reduces the fluid retention that makes centimetre measurements misleadingly high — most clients see measurable centimetre changes within the first month of consistent sessions.

We measure at the beginning of every programme and at regular intervals throughout. The centimetres do not lie.

"I want to burn calories — but I do not have time for a long workout"

This is perhaps the most science-backed outcome of the VacuTherm — and the most surprising to women who have not heard of the technology before.

Independent laboratory testing using hospital-grade cardiopulmonary equipment measured the actual fat burning rate inside a vacuum capsule versus a standard treadmill at the same walking speed. The result: the vacuum capsule produced 76% more fat burning. Not 76% more effort — 76% more actual fat oxidation, measured in real time by clinical spirometry.

A separate peer-reviewed study from the University of Thessaly measured 18 women walking at exactly the same speed of 5 kilometres per hour — once with the vacuum and once without. With the vacuum, their hearts beat 40% faster and their muscles worked significantly harder, despite walking at an identical pace.

In practical terms: a 30-minute VacuTherm session produces a cardiovascular and metabolic response equivalent to a significantly longer conventional workout — without the joint impact, the time commitment, or the recovery demand.

For a woman who is already stretched thin — who wants results but genuinely does not have 90 minutes to spend at a gym — this is not a compromise. It is a smarter use of the time she does have.

"I want results — but I genuinely do not have time"

I hear this more than anything else. Not laziness. Not lack of motivation. Just a life that is genuinely full — children, work, a home, other people's needs that always seem to come first.

The Body Reset Space was designed around this reality. Sessions are 30 minutes. The studio is private — no waiting, no shared equipment, no gym floor. You arrive, you session, you leave. There is no preparation, no class timetable, no commute to a facility that only has parking on Tuesday mornings.

Two sessions per week. Thirty minutes each. That is one hour per week — and it is enough, when the right technology is applied consistently, to produce visible and measurable change.

I know this because I was the woman who did not have time. I drove two hours to Pretoria for sessions because I had seen what the technology did and I was not willing to stop. I opened this studio so that women in Kempton Park would never have to make that choice.

You do not need more time. You need the right thirty minutes.

This is what we do — and who we do it for

The Body Reset Space is a private, technology-assisted wellness studio at 67 Weinberg Road, Glen Marais, Kempton Park. One VacuTherm treadmill. One Body Roller machine. One client at a time. Complete privacy, every session.

We are not a gym. We do not sell motivation or group energy or a busy floor that makes you feel productive. We sell results — measurable, trackable, visible results — for women who have already tried everything else and need something that actually works.

Every client starts with a free Body Reset Consultation. Thirty minutes with me personally. I show you the studio, explain how both machines work for your specific goals, take your measurements, and tell you honestly what I would recommend for you — and why.

No obligation. No pressure. Just real answers from someone who has been exactly where you are.
